Government shutdown affects Guzzioverlands travel plans

Due to the stand-off situation in the White house over the health care issues, the government shutdown of all non-essential services out here in America has affected our travel plans.

We intended to travel through Yellowstone National Park amongst others. All national parks and monuments have been closed and barricaded off,  no visitors are allowed through.

We think the situation will be a lengthy one so back to the maps to work a favourable route south avoiding parks and the weather.

We are really disappointed to have not had the chance to explore more of Yellowstone and other great parks but at least we did get in on Sunday to see some of it including old faithful.

PM me if you need a place in Philly to stop over. I have a California Vintage, know some of the local Guzzi riders and a very good Guzzi tech. I am a fellow Brit and the Guzzi tech is half yank, half yorkshireman :)

Sorry to hear our politicians are having such an effect on the sights you get to see.The good thing, there are lots of other great places to experience.
    Keep the shiney side up,
    Charlie

Yes we agree with Harri too, we are lucky we have time to sort a different route out and hopefully the situation will be resolved by the time we wish to visit the Grand Canyon area but there are a lot of special places we have to miss out on the way. Luckily we are staying with Jim at the moment and he knows lots of unique places so we will work something out.
    Love to you both K & K

Yes Harri we agree! we did wonder if it would cause problems with your plans. Couldn’t find 108 mile house in our map book, 70/100/150 mile house! & Quesnel Then saw “Wells” & wondered if you would get to visit there. You’re right its nothing like our Wells but interesting all the same. Hope you manage to work a route out ok & dodge the weather.
Stay safe love Mum & Dad.
